Edward Permain of Camden Street in North Shields certainly had an eye for composition and humour.
At first glance, this cabinet card is just a group of men posing on steep stairs near the North Shields gut. When you look closely, it is a wonderfully composed collection of the different types of men you would find in the area.
From the wealthier poised gent, the various newspaper readers, sport/news and culture, the dandy and at the back, the man holding his pint.
A photograph and commentary of it's time and yet timeless.
It comes in a made to measure frame with acrylic glass to protect during postage.
Price includes UK postage, for all other destinations, please contact us for a price first.
