Unsung hero of our time,
from engineer's mind to builders eye,
to not rest from duty long,
to say, "this line, thy shalt not cross!"

This is one of the harbour defenses at Scarborough, North Yorkshire,with the old sets providing some purchase when the water washes over.

The sun broke through for a few moments, creating this light effect which I enhanced in converting it to black and white
